It is easy to forget to do so and that is why you should automate it as much as possible. The reality is that it is down to your family members to switch it on and be disciplined when they are on their way out. This routine makes it effortless.
This automation can do two things:
- Alert you (clearly the most responsible person) that the house is unarmed
- Automatically arm the house security system
The latter option has its benefits but be aware not to trigger the false alarm in case the house was not armed for a reason.
How Does It Work?
-
Trigger: your presence detection system detects that there is nobody in the home. This can be one or several of the conditions below:
- Location of your mobile devices changed from “Home” to “Away”
- Nobody is using wifi in your home
- There is no motion detected in your home for a while
-
Action: There are two options:
- Arm your alarm system
- Notify your mobile that somebody forgot to arm the house and suggest to arm the security system .
