I am also not a big fan of having separate players for children for a couple of reasons:
- Audio quality is not great
- Difficult to change the songs
- I cannot mute or make the sound quite
There is a simple solution for this and it requires some home automation.
How Does It Work?
- Trigger: you can use a number of different remotes, but for me, the best one is Aeotec NanoMote.
- You can assign different actions but the best ones in my are (short and Long press):
- Button 1: Start / Pause and Start Playlist #1
- Button 2: Next Song and Start Playlist #2
- Button 3: Previous Song and Start Playlist #3
- Button 4: Start Playlist #4 and Start Playlist #5
- You can use Chromecast or your favourite voice assistant
- Connect your spotify account to be able to access any playlists you need
- Create playlist and go explain your kids how to use it
